September 28 - 1 Corinthians 2:2&14 ~True Believers’ Reliance upon the Spirit~ for I made the decision to know nothing [that is, to forego philosophical or theological discussions regarding inconsequential things and opinions while] among you EXCEPT Jesus Christ, and Him crucified [and the meaning of His REDEMPTIVE, substitutionary DEATH and His RESURRECTION]. But the natural [unbelieving] man does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him; and he is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters].

September 27 - Matthew 6:25&33 ~The Cure for Anxiety~ “Therefore I tell you (a hidden truth), stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, as to what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.

For we know (through prayer and meditation) Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine [retribution and the deliverance of justice rest with Me], I will repay [the wrongdoer].” And again, “The Lord will judge His people.”   It is (now and it will be in the future) a fearful and terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the Living God [incurring His judgment and wrath].

September 25 - 1 John 2:1 ~Christ Is Our Advocate~ My little children (believers, dear ones), I am writing you these things so that you will not sin and violate God’s law. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate [who will intercede for us] with the Father: Jesus Christ the righteous [the upright, the just One, who conforms to the Father’s will in every way—purpose, thought, and action]. September 23 - Romans 5:3-5 ~Results of Justification~ And not only this, but [with joy] let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice in our hardships, knowing that hardship (distress, pressure, trouble) produces patient endurance; and endurance, proven character (spiritual maturity); and proven character, hope and confident assurance [of eternal salvation]. Such hope (born of faith in Jesus) [in God’s promises] never disappoints us, because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
